*Cedartown police are investigating an officer’s shooting of a donkey. A Facebook post from Elsberry Riding and Farm in Polk County claims a donkey named HeeHaw was killed while officers were conducting an unauthorized search of the property early Sunday morning. HeeHaw was reportedly involved in a number of petting zoos.
*Sen. Warnock blasts open AI while slamming Effingham County for doing a data center deal “in the dark.” County officials announced a $20 billion deal recently for a data center. Warnock wants a moratorium on such projects in Georgia. That’s unless tech companies and developers promise environmental and economic protections like limits on noise, light, and water usage.
*Three Catholic families are suing the Georgia Promise Scholarship Program. The say its rules violate religious freedom. Nathan Lloyd is among them and tells ANF-TV a forced secular environment is unconstitutional.
*About 200 teachers in Cobb County walked out of their superintendent’s back to school speech in July. Now, they could face sanctions. Dr. Chris Ragsdale used the speech to equate people who oppose book banning to people who support human trafficking.
