With winter nearly in the rearview mirror, temperatures warmed up the past week while gas prices cooled down.
AAA says the average for a gallon in Gainesville is down by six cents to $2.94. The statewide average today is also $2.94, which is five cent a gallon cheaper than last Monday. The national average dropped by three cents, bringing it to $3.09 per gallon.
Prices are expected to remain steady as March arrives and routine seasonal maintenance wraps up, AAA says.
