Walmart plans to upgrade more than a dozen stores in Georgia, including the ones in Oakwood and Commerce, by the end of the year.
It’s part of a nationwide plan for a redo of 650 full-service stores and Neighborhood Markets coast-to-coast. The Browns Bridge Road Neighborhood Market in Gainesville was renovated last year. The Supercenter on Shallowford Road in Gainesville was upgraded several years ago. In both instances, the work included relocating some departments and the addition of new self-service checkouts.
There are 13 stores in all in the state that are scheduled for updating:

- Hinesville Walmart Neighborhood Market – 801a E. General Stewart Way
- Jesup Walmart Supercenter – 1100 N. 1st St.
- LaGrange Walmart Supercenter – 803 New Franklin Rd.
- Loganville Walmart Supercenter – 4221 Atlanta Hwy.
- Oakwood Walmart Supercenter – 3875 Mundy Mill Rd.
- Rincon Walmart Supercenter – 434 S. Columbia Ave.
- Snellville Walmart Neighborhood Market – 2912 W. Main St.
- Woodstock Walmart Supercenter – 12182 Hwy. 92
