The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) estimated at one point that it might take two hours to clear the road.
GEORGIA STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:
“On November 7th, 2023 at 7:09 PM, Troopers from the Gainesville Post of the Georgia State Patrol responded to SR 53 (Dawsonville Hwy), east of Harbour Point Pkwy, to investigate a traffic crash.
Upon arrival, the Trooper determined that a Black 2023 Cadillac XT5 rear ended a 2011 Dodge Ram Truck while they were both traveling westbound. After the initial impact, the Cadillac SUV overturned off the south side of the roadway. The driver of the Dodge Ram, Dakota Roberts, 24, of Cleveland, received minor injuries from the crash. The driver of the Cadillac XT5, Bradley Taylor, 41, of Cumming, was transported due to injuries sustained from the crash.
Taylor was charged with following too closely, Driving Under the Influence, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.”
