HCSO UPDATE: He acted, she talked, now he’s locked up

A 17-year-old from Gainesville was arrested last week by Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators who recently obtained warrants charging him in a child molestation/aggravated sexual battery investigation that began late last year.

HCSO NEWS RELEASE:

Investigators took Daniel Hilario, 17, into custody at HCSO Headquarters on Friday afternoon, Feb. 16, on the following charges, all related to the same juvenile victim.

  • Child molestation (felony)
  • Aggravated sexual battery (felony)
  • Aggravated assault (felony)
  • Enticing a child for indecent purposes (felony)
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony)
  • Pointing gun/pistol at another (misdemeanor)
  • Contributing to the delinquency of a minor (misdemeanor)
  • Interference with custody (misdemeanor)

According to the preliminary investigation, Hilario met the victim on social media in August, and while giving her a ride, he pointed a handgun at her, resulting in the charges of pointing a gun/pistol at another.

The sexual abuse and other crimes occurred between 10 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 1 a.m. on Sept. 2, in Hilario’s pickup truck in a parking lot in the 4000 block of GA 60 North/Thompson Bridge Road.

The incidents were reported to deputies on Nov. 9, when the victim disclosed them to a trusted adult.

Hilario is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond. The case remains under investigation.”
