Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) investigators have charged a Talmo man with leaving the scene of a crash that injured a Gainesville man a week ago on Athens Highway.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“AIU investigators worked on the case throughout the week and on Thursday morning identified Enrique Octavio Aguilar-Perez, 46, as the at-fault driver who left the scene. They located Aguilar-Perez, as well as the pickup truck and trailer involved in the crash, at his workplace in the 3800 block of Athens Highway.
Investigators arrested Aguilar-Perez. In addition to leaving the scene of an accident, they charged him with failure to yield while turning left and driving with a suspended license, all misdemeanors.
The crash happened at approximately 11:15 a.m. June 13 at Bob Bryant Road and injured Renaldo Jenard Sneed, 31. Sneed was thrown from his 2007 Honda FSC600, a large, highway-capable maxi-scooter, during the collision. Sneed, who was wearing a helmet, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
