Hall County Emergency Management (EMA) has activated the county’s Emergency Operations Center in response to the stormy weather this morning.
“Representatives from essential county departments are present to monitor roadways and coordinate crews who stand ready to clear roads and assist public safety personnel throughout the event,” county spokeswoman Natalae La Douceur said.
Since 5:00 this morning there’s been an increase in rain and wind gusts. That’s when, 97.5 Glory FM reported, winds had not topped 35 mph and rainfall totaled about a third of an inch. But as of this report those numbers stood at 43 mph and 2.31 inches.
And the stormy weather is expected to continue all day and into the night. The Flood Watch and High Wind Warning are set to expire at 8:00 Sunday morning.
Road problems thus far have been few with only two trees down since midnight and no flooding.
