UPDATE: Pedestrian killed on McEver Rd.

The state patrol says a pedestrian was killed in that early morning accident on McEver Road near Lanier Islands early today.

STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“On December 21, 2023, at approximately 0417 hours, a Trooper from Georgia State Patrol Post 6-Gainesville, was dispatched to the area of McEver Rd and SR 347 (Lanier Islands Pkwy) in Hall County for a motor vehicle collision involving passenger car and pedestrian.

Upon arrival, the Trooper discovered a pedestrian had been struck by a 2018 Genesis G80, driven by Octavia Carter, 47, of Sugar Hill.  Ms. Carter was traveling north on McEver Rd, approaching SR 347 (Lanier Islands Pkwy) when she struck an unidentified pedestrian who (was) walking in the roadway. Shortly after impact, Ms. Carter notified emergency services to report the incident.

The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries.  Next of kin has not been notified because the pedestrian has not been positively identified.” (EDITOR’S NOTE: As of 8:45 a.m.)
