The dump truck accident that closed a portion of John Morrow Parkway earlier this week left the driver with minor injuries and a ticket for driving too fast for conditions. The vehicle overturned Wednesday blocking two lanes of the busy four-lane.
“Based on the report, the driver of the dump truck lost control of the vehicle while navigating the curve of John Morrow Parkway,” Gainesville Police Lt. Jessica Van said Thursday in releasing new information on the accident, which triggered a Traffic Alert from police. “It was a single vehicle crash.”
The driver, she said, was taken to the hospital with superficial injuries after he was freed from the truck, which was loaded with gravel.
