UPDATE: No evidence so far of racial slurs at Jefferson High football game, school officials say

Jefferson school officials said Tuesday night they have, so far, found no evidence that support many of the claims that some Maynard Jackson High School students were the targets of racist language during a football game Friday night. But, the AJC reports, they add their investigation is not over.

“As the investigation has progressed, the schools have reviewed information related to reports and allegations that have been brought forward, including claims shared online, and, based on our investigation, have not found evidence to substantiate many of the claims reviewed to date. A limited number of matters remain under review,” the Jefferson City School District said in a written statement.

The statement from Jefferson said it is continuing to work with Maynard Jackson school administrators to review the matter and reiterated it does not tolerate any form of racism or other derogatory behavior.
