Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) have charged a woman with second-degree vehicular homicide following the death of a driver in a collision in Clermont earlier this month.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“The collision occurred (last Sunday) just before 10 a.m. at the intersection of Holly Springs Road and Cleveland Highway.
AIU investigators determined Kinverlyn Carolina Ollarves, 42, of Lawrenceville, pulled onto Cleveland Highway from the west side of Holly Springs Road and drove into the path of a southbound Jeep Wrangler on Cleveland Highway. The Jeep, driven by Alvin Dale Wallace, 82, of Helen, overturned multiple times before coming to a rest on the driver’s side door of the vehicle.
Mr. Wallace was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville suffering from critical injuries. (Last Wednesday) Mr. Wallace died as a result of his injuries.
AIU investigators obtained an arrest warrant for vehicular homicide in the second degree the following day. Ollarves also was charged with a stop sign violation and a tire conditions violation.
Ollarves turned herself in at the Hall County Jail on Saturday. She remains in custody with no bond on the vehicular homicide charge. She also has been placed under an immigration hol
