The pedestrian who was killed in a weekend accident on Tom Born Road in Habersham County was identified by the state patrol Monday as Buddy Fairchild, 30, of Clayton. Troopers say Fairchild was sitting or lying in the roadway next to two trash bags containing his belongings when he was hit about 1:00 Saturday morning.
In a vehicle-pedestrian accident less than 12 hours earlier also in Habersham, Sandra D. Schriefer, 58, of Dahlonega, suffered non-life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a SUV on Talmadge Drive while trying to control the two dogs she was walking. The dogs, the state patrol says, had entered the path of the vehicle.
