UPDATE: GSP chase ends in Oakwood with arrest of S. Hall man

GEORGIA STATE PATROL (GSP) NARRATIVE:

“On Monday, November 6, 2023, Troopers stopped a Honda CR-V for driving at night with no headlights.

 Upon contact with the driver, the driver stated he did not have his license on his person.  He did provide a name and Date of Birth, which returned as Revoked/Habitual Violator.  Troopers returned to the driver and instructed him to exit the vehicle.  After several commands to exit the vehicle, the driver put the vehicle in drive an initiated a pursuit.

After approximatley 1 minute, the driver slowed abrputly, entered a shallow ditch and attempted to drive into a parking lot.  The vehicle overturned in the ditch and came to rest on its drivers side.  The driver crawled out of the passenger side door and, when he jumped to the pavement, refused Troopers verbal commands and resisted the attempt to place him into custody.  

The driver failed to comply with repeated commands to lay on his stomach and put his hands behind his back.  Troopers warned the driver that he would be tased and a short Arc Button drive stun was used to gain the driver’s compliance.

Oakwood Police assisted in placing the subject into handcuffs.  The driver gave a false name and date of birth. The driver is Justin Hackney of Flowery Branch.”
