3:30 P.M. SATURDAY UPDATE #2: While still not commenting on the circumstances surrounding his arrest, Gainesville Police (GPD) Saturday afternoon released some information on the arrest of Jarrid Carter in connection with the recent Limestone Parkway/Dollar General shooting.
In a Facebook post, other agencies involved in the investigation were acknowledged: the GBI, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, and the White County Sheriff’s Office.
The post also took note of the public’s role in bringing about the arrest: “We appreciate the community’s assistance in helping identify Carter…Thank you to everyone who shared information and assisted with this investigation.”
6:45 A.M. SATURDAY UPDATE: A 30-year-old man was arrested by Gainesville Pollice Friday night and charged with the shooting outside the Limestone Parkway Dollar General a couple of weeks ago.
Jarrid Carter, 30, is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, shoplifting, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and criminal attempt, according to records at the Hall County Jail. Looks like he was booked about 9:00.
Early Saturday morning, Carter remained in jail. He was being held without bond on most of the charges.
No details yet on the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
