Fifteen students were baptized on the promenade of the University of North Georgia’s (UNG) Dahlonega campus recently during Revive’s annual baptism night. Revive is a Christian student ministry that has hosted the event each fall for the past three years.
“I think that the impact of an event like this being in the open. I think it just spreads knowledge about what Revive is and what we stand for,” said Maggie Lord, a sophomore Middle Grades Education major.
According to ungvanguard.org’s Ansley McMurry, Staff Editor, about 200 people, including students, community members and families attended the event. Lord said that holding the baptism in a public area helped introduce Revive to students who may not have been familiar with the ministry.
