“We value our community members and strive to provide the best opportunities and facilities to support your personal fitness and wellness needs while maintaining a safe environment. Unfortunately, due to ongoing maintenance issues and unfavorable, long-term maintenance projections, we will be permanently closing the Recreation Center pool on the Gainesville Campus effective December 16, 2023.
We apologize for any inconvenience the pool closure may cause. Access to the other facilities including the fitness center located in the Hugh Mills Building will remain unchanged.
We don’t anticipate any disruption to classes or student activities.
The pool has been used by students, faculty, staff, and community members.“
