The GBI has arrested and charged Jonathan Sells, 39, of Cleveland, and Thomas Walker, 37, of Helen, with sexual exploitation of children. The arrests were mad following two separate investigations.
In May, the agency’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit began an investigation into Sells’ online activity. The investigation led to a search of his home and his subsequent arrest on October 24. Investigators discovered that Sells both possessed and distributed child sexual abuse material, the GBI said. In addition, he was charged with destruction of evidence. The White County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) assisted the GBI with the arrest of Sells.
Also in May, agents started looking into Walker’s online activity. That investigation led to a search of his home and his subsequent arrest, also on October 24. Walker was charged with three counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. The Helen Police Department assisted with Walker’s arrest.
