Two arrested in connection with W. Hall burglary

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to the report of a burglary on the morning of Dec. 1 in the 2300 block of Centennial Circle. According to the initial investigation, multiple tools that belonged to the victim were taken from an enclosed trailer on the property at approximately 2 a.m.

Thomas Allan Williams, 38, of Gainesville, was arrested in the 800 block of West Ridge Road, later on Dec. 1 at approximately 8 p.m. Williams had been staying in a trailer on the property. He is charged with second-degree burglary (felony) and felony possession of methamphetamine. At the time of arrest, Williams had possession of approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine.

On Tuesday, Dec. 5, deputies apprehended a second suspect in the burglary. The Warrant Service Unit took Claude Otis Simpson, 51, of Clermont, into custody in the 2000 block of Murphy Boulevard. He is also charged with second-degree burglary.

The case remains under investigation by HCSO. Williams remains in the Hall County Jail on $8,100 bond. Simpson is being held without bond.”
