*The GBI is investigating a trooper-involved shooting in Appling County. The state trooper was helping Jeff Davis County deputies chase after a kidnapping suspect Tuesday morning. Investigators say the suspect pulled over in Appling County but ignored orders to stop reaching into his waistband after he dropped to the ground. The trooper shot and wounded the man, who was flown by helicopter to a hospital.
*An Augusta mother is accused of stabbing her two-year-old child. Richmond County deputies say the woman attacked the toddler in the abdomen with a six-inch blade and cut his neck. The 29-year-old was arrested for aggravated assault and child cruelty at her apartment on Fister Court Monday night. The child was last said to be in stable condition.
*A Conyers company that produces cleaning products for pools is being criticized for its conditions before a massive fire. The U.S. Chemical Safety Board released an investigative report yesterday into the 2024 fire at the BioLab warehouse, which caused thousands of evacuations.
