The driver of a large truck hauling live chickens crashed the vehicle in Clermont early Wednesday. The crash, which occurred at Shoal Creek Road and Main Street, was reported to Hall County Dispatch around 5:15.
HCSO NARATIVE:
“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) patrol deputies arrived at the scene and closed the roadway to traffic. They made contact with the truck driver, Ki Yeop Kim, 56, of Suwanee, and determined he was uninjured. The initial investigation determined Kim possibly fell asleep after he made the turn from Shoal Creek Road to Main Street, crashing into a power pole. The collision forced the carrier to overturn on its side, spilling the chickens into the roadway and onto surrounding property.
The roadway remained closed for nearly seven (7) hours, reopening around noon after clean-up was complete and the power pole had been repaired.
