Traffic accident leads to charges in a 2011 child molestation case

A suspect in a 2011 Hall County child molestation case is in custody following a traffic accident this week on Calvary Church Road.

“A trooper with the Georgia State Patrol responded to the accident just after 7:45 a.m. Thursday,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “During the course of the investigation, the trooper arrested Leonel Antonio Reyes-Zuniga, 45, for driving while unlicensed. Reyes-Zuniga was transported to the Hall County Jail.

“As Reyes-Zuniga was being booked, a jail officer discovered an outstanding warrant dated September 13, 2012, charging the suspect with child molestation.  According to the warrant, the crime occurred between Sept. 1, 2011 and Oct. 19, 2011. The female victim in the case was 13-years-old at the time. The suspect was age 32.”

At this time, Reyes-Zuniga is jailed without bond.
