*The Braves split their two-game set against the Nationals after cruising to a 9-0 victory in DC Wednesday. Sean Murphy and Ronald Acuna Jr. each went deep with three-run blasts. Atlanta snapped its two-game skid and will visit the Philadelphia Phillies for a four-game series that starts tomorrow.  
 
*The Atlanta Falcons’ starting quarterback competition appears to be heading down to the wire. GM Ian Cunningham said yesterday that a decision between Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr. hasn’t been made and won’t be announced until the coaches are ready.  
 
*Week One of the college football season kicks off tonight. Georgia Tech is hosting Colorado (pre-game show 6:00, kickoff 8:00 on 97.5 Glory FM). Among other games Alabama begins the season Saturday when it hosts East Carolina. Georgia opens the year on Saturday when it hosts Tennessee State. Tennessee is hosting Furman on Saturday. Auburn welcomes Baylor on Saturday. Vanderbilt hosts Austin Peay on Saturday.
