The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is investigating three cases of Entering an Auto which were reported New Year’s Day south of Gainesville. They occurred in the 2400 block of Crossgate Court off Athens Highway.
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“…Deputies fielded the first call at approximately 1:20 p.m., when the victim reported approximately $500 worth of tools stolen from his SUV. On the same property, a second victim disclosed that his car, parked near the SUV, had also been entered. Roughly $120 in personal items were reported stolen. Neither vehicle was locked at the time of the crimes.
While investigating the incidents, one of the victims and deputies found some items on the side of the road, including a bag with a wallet. Deputies returned the bag to a woman who lives down the street, and in the process, learned that her pickup truck had also been entered. In addition to the bag and wallet, cash had been taken from the truck. The victim believes the truck was left unlocked the previous night.
The HCSO Special Investigations Unit continues to investigate the cases. A suspect or suspects have not been identified currently.”
