Theft suspect quickly taken into custody

Hall County sheriff’s deputies responded to an entering auto call about noon Sunday in the 3400 block of Sugar Hill Way and within minutes had the alleged thief in custody, according to the sheriff’s office.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“According to the initial investigation, Desirra Banks, 40, of Gainesville, entered an unlocked SUV in the driveway of a residence and stole two bags containing pens. Banks, who lives in the area, committed the crime minutes before deputies’ arrival.

Deputies arrested Banks, who had a bench warrant for failure to appear, at her residence. (They) charged her with entering auto (felony) and transported her to the Hall County Jail.

Banks remained in jail on $6,396 bond Monday morning…”
