The bass boats are a-comin’; A million $ find; Hall’s loss is Barrow’s gain

*The American Bass Anglers (ABA) is set to launch the inaugural season of the ABA Professional League in Georgia – on Lake Lanier. “This groundbreaking initiative offers weekend anglers an extraordinary platform to showcase their talents at a professional level, empowering them to chart their own destiny in the professional, and with a better payout,” according to the announcement. The first Georgia Division event is scheduled for Saturday on Lake Lanier, launching out of Laurel Park.

*What started as a drug investigation in Buford led to the recovery of about a million dollars’ worth of stolen construction materials and supplies, most if believed to have come from Home Depot and Lowe’s stores. Four people were arrested by Gwinnett County Police during a raid in the 4200 block of Tuggle Road.

*A longtime Hall County employee, whose tenure with the county includes a stint as Planning Director, is in line to become the next county manager in Barrow County. The county commission there is expected to give final approval to Srikanth Yamala’s appointment to the post before the end of the month.
