North Hall Middle School Ag Teacher, Leigh Strawbridge, will compete later this year for the Ideas Unlimited Award sponsored by the National Association of Agriculture Educators.
In December, she will travel to San Antonio, Texas to compete at the national level.
Strawbridge won at the state level and then at the region level to earn the trip to San Antonio.
The Idea that Mrs. Strawbridge submitted is a project called the Agricultural Supply and Demand Great Food Truck Race. Through this project, students learn about agriculture as a global market, focusing on supply and demand of agricultural commodities. They apply their knowledge through creating a food truck business and themed menu. Students are able to practice employability skills like critical thinking, problem solving, and customer service skills.
(EDITOR’S NOTE: Strawbridge recently married which is why the award reads “Vinson.”)
