*Income and property tax savings are on their way in Georgia. Governor Brian Kemp signed two bills yesterday aimed at reducing property taxes, raising the standard deduction and cutting the state’s income tax rate. Democrats opposed to the legislation point to the possibility of local governments raising sales tax to make up for the cuts. Kemp hasn’t decided what, if anything to do, to make up for the cuts.
*A middle Georgia attorney is going to remain behind bars for allegedly taking $50,000 worth of drugs into a jail. WGXA reports a judge denied bond for Kevin Paul Bradley, who is facing charges for possession and crossing guard lines with drugs. The 60-year-old is accused of taking legal documents soiled with synthetic marijuana for inmates inside the Bibb County jail last month.

*A Georgia college is being noted for its beauty again. Travel and Leisure just named Berry College near Rome as the second-most beautiful in the U.S. The 27,000-acre property is the country’s largest contiguous campus. The University of Georgia was listed at number 27.
