Tampering with mailboxes; Rainy day accidents; Early voting ending; Cumming hospital among best in world

*Early voting for the March 12 presidential primaries and the special Oakwood City Council election ends this week.

*A new report says ten hospitals in Georgia – including Cumming’s – are among the best in the world. Newsweek says it partnered with Statista to release its annual ranking of the world’s best hospitals. Cumming’s Northside Hospital Forsyth is #276 on the list.

*The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) confirmed Monday that deputies investigated several “rainy day” traffic accidents on Friday but there were no injuries. These wrecks occurred on Truelove Road when a car hydroplaned, leaving the road and striking a fence; on Old Cornelia Highway when a car left the road in a curve and struck a “power pole line” with no damage to the pole; and a rear-end collision on Mt. Vernon Road at Thompson Bridge Road. These are in addition to the wreck on Thompson Bridge at Lee Road which was investigated by the state patrol and resulted in a couple of injuries. *The mailbox incident involved two business mailboxes at Total Imaging on Atlas Circle. The business owner thinks one box might have had mail inside, but he was unsure. Both mailboxes had been tampered with, according to the preliminary investigation. No suspects at this time.
