Suspect in Oakwood burglary ID’d

A suspect has been identified in the burglary early Thursday morning of a store in Oakwood, but he remained at large at mid-afternoon Friday.

Oakwood Police say it was a former employee of the Dollar Tree on Winder Highway who smashed his way into the store. They say Thomas Anderson, 56, Clarkston, took an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe that was in the manager’s office.

He was identified using footage from a security camera in the store, which is near the entrance to Royal Lakes Country Club and Subdivision.

However, Anderson’s whereabouts are unknown, and charges are pending.
