A Harlem, Georgia, man was in custody in his hometown at last check, charged with raping a Flowery Branch woman in her Sterling on the Lake home.
The woman reported to Flowery Branch Police last Thursday that Christian Jerome Lavarias-Ancheta, 31, came to her home, disabled cameras inside, prevented her from leaving, threatened to kill her and her children, physically assaulted her, and raped her.
Investigators obtained warrants charging Lavarias-Ancheta with false imprisonment, aggravated assault, aggravated sexual battery, rape, battery and tampering with evidence, Assistant Chief Todd Templeton said.
Police determined he was living in Harlem and requested assistance from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrested him on Friday on the outstanding warrants and for possession of a illegal drugs, Chief Templeton added.
As of late Monday afternoon, authorities didn’t know when he would be returned to Hall County.
