A 60-year-old man was charged Saturday with 14 counts of Theft by Deception and 14 counts of Exploit/Inflict Pain/Elder/Resident Person. He’s also charged with Probation Violation and was being held on bonds totaling $79,800 as late as mid-morning Sunday.
The sheriff’s office also investigated a report of Sexual Battery on Chadwick Drive in Flowery Branch and a Rape on Stephens Road.
Details are not likely to be available until the HCSO administrative offices reopen Tuesday following the holiday weekend.
Reports on activity by the Oakwood, Gainesville and Flowery Branch police departments were not available Sunday morning.
The state patrol, meanwhile, reported that as of 6:00 Sunday morning traffic accidents over the holiday weekend had taken the lives of at least four people, none in northeast Georgia.
