*Two former Peachtree City flight school owners are facing racketeering and theft charges. This follows an investigation into missing student funds.
*The Gainesville area wasn’t the only place in the state taking a stormy hit Saturday. Thousands of people were still without power Sunday after Saturday storms roll through metro Atlanta. The big problem — trees knocking down power lines. Sunday night there were about 14,000 Georgia Power customers statewide still in the dark and some outages are still being reported this morning.
*The GOP challenger to Senator Jon Ossoff is slated to speak at this week’s Republican Party convention for the midterms. Congressman Mike Collins, along with fellow Georgia Representative Bryan Jack, are both appearing with several dozen others during the two-day event in Dallas Wednesday and Thursday.
*Georgia Tech is ranked No. 4 nationally on Niche’s 2027 Best Colleges in America list and No. 1 in Georgia. Emory University ranked second in the state, followed by the University of Georgia, the University of West Georgia and Clayton State University.
