*Georgia’s elections board is allowing current rules for no-excuse absentee voting to stay in place. The vote Tuesday was 3-2 with the newly-appointed chairman casting the deciding vote. Many conservative groups in the state had called on the board to scrap the provision.

*A new report has found that car insurance premiums in Georgia now avrage a little more than $2,600 a year. That’s $67 higher than the national average. Georgia currently ranks 35th in the nation with cost-effective auto insurance prices. However, many drivers in the state are expected to pay less than the national average since full coverage is not required here. But those who do pay for full coverage are expected to pay above the national average of 3.41 percent of income.
