State prison deputy warden fired; Gville credit union ATM damaged; Lawn mower DUI case

*Just days after the firing of a guard at Lee Arrendale State Prison in Alto, another state prison employee has been dismissed on a charge of sexual conduct with a person in custody. Pulaski State Prison Deputy Warden Alonzo McMillian was let go last week. Lee Arrendale Lt. Russell Clark is the other. He was arrested on the same charge.

*An ATM at Lanier Credit Union on Thompson Bridge Road was damaged recently, according to Gainesville Police, and a hard drive taken from it. The damage totaled $5,000. The incident occurred between 11:00 p.m. May 7 and 11:00 a.m. May 10.

*An Oconee County man has been arrested after he was caught riding a lawn mower while drunk. WGAU reports sheriff’s deputies stopped Willie Laguines, 64, after they noticed him riding a lawn mower on Highway 186. The officers said his breath “smelled like alcohol” and there was other evidence he had been drinking. He told them he was on his way home from a convenience store.
