Gas prices in Georgia and in Gainesville declined over the past week.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded statewide today is $3.42, down a penny from last Monday. The decrease in Gainesville was even more – five cents a gallon to $3.39. But nationally, the price continued to creep up, four cents since last Monday to $3.67, according to AAA.
A spokesman said this is the time of year there may be a bit of a lull in demand – between the end of spring breaks and ahead of Memorial Day – so it’s not unusual to see small increases, some flat days, and even some price dips.
