State, local fall weather warmer- and drier-than-normal

With fall 2024 in the rearview mirror, the National Weather Service (NWS) is out with its Autumn Climate Summary and like the one for summer it shows things were, overall, warmer and drier than normal in Georgia.

Closer to home it shows September-December was 3.3 degrees warmer than usual in Gainesville and about an inch drier.

Data recorded for the weather serviced at the Gainesville airport shows the average temperature for the three-month period was 65.3 degrees, while total rainfall measured 12.28 inches.
