State jobless rate unchanged; something new at Piedmont U.

*Georgia’s November unemployment rate was 3.4 percent, unchanged from a revised 3.4 percent for the third consecutive month. That’s three-tenths lower than the national rate. The number of jobs in the state increased by 14,300 over the month and are up by 2.1% over the year to 4,952,400, an all-time high. (Local unemployment rates will be announced next week.)

*Georgia’s first dedicated Forensic Academy will be located at Piedmont University. It will offer three Forensic Science certifications on the school’s Demorest Campus. The Academy will serve as the central forensic training academy for basic and advanced forensic certifications for the state.
