State elections board update; Harris-fueled uptick in voter registrations

(GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK) – A Georgia judge is ordering election officials to certify results within a week of the presidential election.

The State Elections Board recently passed a measure to allow local boards the freedom to investigate suspected irregularities, which would draw out any certifications of results. Judge Robert McBurney said Tuesday that the deadline is the deadline.

The subject has intensified since Donald Trump pushed voting fraud allegations in 2020 that have never been proven.

*State voter rolls show that thousands of people re-registered after Kamala Harris held a rally in Atlanta this summer.

The AJC says 40,000 people overall have re-registered in Georgia since the beginning of the year. Around 25% of that number came the day after the rally.

The state, meanwhile, removed 100,000 eligible voters for various reasons in the same time period.
