CLEVELAND POLICE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE:
“On Tuesday…at approximately 11:00 a.m. Cleveland Police Officers were conducting a follow-up investigation regarding an assault that had occurred earlier at a residence on Hood Street in Cleveland. Additionally, the suspect of the assault was also wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for an outstanding Murder warrant. The suspect is identified as Julius Scott Dorsey, 55 of Cleveland.
During the investigation, officers became aware that Dorsey was inside the residence and was hiding in a rear bedroom and refused to exit. Suspecting that the suspect may have been armed with a weapon, the officers on the scene evacuated all other occupants from the residence. Support was requested from the White County Sheriff’s Office for a SWAT team and additional officers from neighboring agencies for assistance.
Following a brief standoff, Dorsey exited the residence, unarmed, and surrendered to officers on the scene.”
