*As other Georgia Olympic venues fall by the wayside, the latest being the tennis facility in Gwinnett, Hall County’s continues to function. And now the ribbon has been cut for the new boathouse at the rowing/canoe/kayak venue on Clarks Bridge Road. Gwinnett’s tennis venue is being sold to developers who plan a mixed-use community on the site.
*Meanwhile, at the other end of the county, groundbreaking was held Wednesday for the county school system’s newest school – an elementary facility on McEver Road that, when finished, will consolidate Oakwood and McEver elementary schools, two of the oldest in the system. *Former West Hall High School principal Scott Justus has been named Middle School Director at Lakeview Academy. Justus is currently assistant superintendent of schools in White County and will replace Darlene Snyder who is leaving at the close of the school year.
