This session of the Georgia Legislature ended shortly after midnight Thursday.
Here’s rundown on what happened to some key pieces of legislation:
A bill banning puberty blockers for minors and a proposal to put sports betting on the ballot this fall did not, in the end, pass but an increase in the homestead exemption did as well as a bill designed to punish sheriffs who do not enforce federal immigration laws, but a companion piece of legislation did not.
Revisions to the state’s health care business regulations and a bill creating a commission that will look at fully expanding Medicaid got a “thumbs up.”
