SCOGA upholds conviction, sentence given Hall Co. murderess

In a unanimous decision, the Georgia Supreme Court (SCOGA) has upheld the murder conviction and sentence given a 48-year-old Gainesville woman in the death of her 82-year-old fiancé.

Leroy Kramer’s his body was found two months after his death in the house he and Tabitha Wood had shared.

At her trial, Wood claimed self-defense, testifying about a long history of Kramer’s violence toward her, and presented testimony from an expert who concluded that Wood suffered from battered person syndrome.

But a Hall County Superior Court jury convicted Wood of malice murder and other crimes and she was given a life sentence.
