*The Baldwin County School Board has approved the sale of more than 15 acres of former Georgia State Patrol property to Georgia College and State University for $865,000. According to 41NBC, the land includes the former patrol building and will help support growth on GCSU’s west campus. School leaders say they no longer need the site for future construction and plan to market the remaining acreage for commercial development, returning it to the county’s tax base.
*Hundreds of pounds of meth are off the streets thanks to an investigation in Sandy Springs and Brookhaven. Federal agents say they uncovered 130 pounds of meth from a car left parked at a Brookhaven shopping center at the beginning of April. Another 350-pounds were discovered in a search of a Sandy Springs apartment. Three suspects are in custody.
*Ten inmates are accused of attacking another inmate inside the Fulton County jail. Eleven Alive reports eight of the suspects in the assault were being held on murder charges. The victim was last said to be suffering from serious injuries.
*A woman stole an Albany Police car while officers were handling a domestic call, then crashed into several vehicles before fleeing. According to WALB, Teannia Broadnax was later taken into custody. Investigators say Broadnax appeared to be experiencing a mental health crisis, and EMS was requested after she reported anxiety issues.
