This go round, the scammers are representing themselves as members of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). They use websites, social media and other accessible avenues to find actual employee names for law enforcement officers, including those with HCSO, and claim to be those individuals. In at least one case, they used the name of a former sheriff’s office employee.

In most of the recent calls, the scammer claims the call recipient missed ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ท๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜† duty, or some variation thereof. The stories aren’t all exactly the same, but have similar elements, including demand of payment to settle the, “missed jury duty.” There have been requests for payment ranging from gift cards to online money transfer.

The bottom line is and will always remains the same – ๐—ข๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐˜† ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ท๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜€.
