Road closures, traffic shifts, and detours are on tap starting next week as part of ongoing construction of the new Sardis Connector. The changes will begin Monday, weather permitting, according to the state Department of Transportation (GDOT).
GDOT NEWS RELEASE:
“Road Closures
The following roads will be closed for the new Sardis Connector alignment:
- Southers Road: Closed near 3758 Southers Road and Woodland Road.
- Greencrest Road: Closed between Woodland Road and Garden Boulevard.
- Garden Boulevard: Will become a “No Outlet” with access only via SR 60.
- Elrod Drive: Closed between Hidden Hollow Drive and Ledan Lane.
- Brackett Drive: Closed near 3216 Brackett Drive to Ladd Drive.
Traffic Shifts
- Southers Road & Woodland Road: Connected with continuous flow; 2-way stop established.
- Greencrest Road & Garden Boulevard: Realigned into a 90-degree turn; 2-way stop.
- Elrod Drive & Hidden Hollow Drive: Realigned into a 90-degree turn; 2-way stop.
- Ladd Drive & Brackett Drive: Connected with continuous flow; 2-way stop established.
Detour Route
- Brackett Drive traffic will detour using the same Fran Mar Drive (North) detour currently in place.”
