Bond has been set at $24,100 for a Flowery Branch man following a two-day domestic dispute that ended early Friday morning but not before Hall County sheriff’s deputies had cleared a two-story house of other occupants and talked him into surrendering.
HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE (HCSO) REPORT:
The deputies responded to a domestic incident in progress at a home in the 3700 block of Twin Creek Court about 2:00.
When they arrived, deputies heard a voice coming from the back of the house. They went to the rear of the home and saw a man standing in the doorway of a second-floor balcony. When deputies announced their presence, the man, later identified as Tremayne Lamont Johnson, 47, closed the door and turned off the lights.
Deputies then spoke with occupants on the first floor and learned individual rooms in the home were rented to different people. Deputies evacuated the lower level and made their way to the second floor, where they also escorted those occupants outside for safety.
While deputies were clearing the home, a communications officer speaking by phone with the female caller heard Johnson refusing to let her go to the door or allow deputies into the room. Deputies located the second-floor room and called out to the occupants. Johnson came to the door but initially refused to come out. He eventually complied and was taken into custody without further incident. Deputies found two women, ages 43 and 22, inside the room.
According to the preliminary investigation, Johnson had consumed alcohol throughout the day and was upset someone had called law enforcement the previous night after he fired a handgun from the back porch. When he discovered he had misplaced the firearm, he put his hands around the 43-year-old victim’s neck, preventing her from breathing. He also struck her, causing bruising to her arm.
In addition to two counts of false imprisonment, deputies charged Johnson with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act and battery under the Family Violence Act. He was also charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
