S. Hall man charged in connection with ‘rolling physical altercation’

Oakwood Police have charged a Flowery Branch man in connection with what Chief Tim Hatch calls a “rolling physical altercation.”

“This incident occurred on 04/09/2024 between 11pm and midnight,” Chief Hatch said in a Friday morning email.

“Edgar Torres (39-year-old male from Flowery Branch) and a friend (29-year-old female) were involved in a rolling physical altercation that started at the QuickTrip at 3446 Mundy Mill Road. Mr. Torres would not stop the vehicle and kept grabbing the victim’s cellphone when she tried to call 911.”

Braselton Police and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies located the vehicle in the 100 block of Pinecrest Lane in Braselton.

Torres is charged with eight counts of 9-1-1 obstruction, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and simple battery.
