S. Hall assault investigation leads to additional suspects, charges

Three people remained in the Hall County Jail Friday morning following their arrests earlier in the week that resulted from the reported assault of a grass cutter by one of them earlier in the month on Cantrell Road in Flowery Branch.

The incident occurred Oct. 18. On that date, the sheriff’s office reports, the property owner’s adult daughter was cutting grass at the location and saw the offender, identified as Brian Kevin Woolf, 63, trespassing on the property. She recognized Woolf as a man who had previously trespassed on the property after he was found staying there without permission.

The daughter also saw Woolf removing mail from two mailboxes on the property and followed him on her lawnmower and began to take cell phone video of Woolf. When Woolf saw the woman, he began tossing the mail out of the driver’s side window of his vehicle. He then drove toward the woman as he left the property. She was not injured. At that time, deputies obtained warrants for Woolf for simple assault, littering on public or private property and criminal trespass.

Deputies obtained information that Woolf was known to visit the residence of Rodney Stephen King, 66, on Honeysuckle Lane. On Monday, deputies went to King’s residence and found Woolf inside. During the course of Woolf’s arrest, deputies conducted a search of Woolf and the residence and located one gram of methamphetamine in a room where Woolf was staying.  In addition, they found two-and-a-half grams of meth and less than an ounce of marijuana in a bedroom King and his girlfriend Cheryl Lynn Anderson, 55, occupied.

King and Anderson were arrested on methamphetamine and marijuana possession charges. Woolf was also charged with possessing methamphetamine.
