Reward in fatal Barrow hit-and-run; LLA’s new executive director; Suwanee EMC rate change

*A $5,000 reward is now being offered in a February hit-and-run in Barrow County that left a woman dead. She died after being involved in a crash on University Parkway near Patrick Mill Road. Georgia News Network reports CrimeStoppers is offering a reward for information on the whereabouts of Cedar Raudales, who authorities say was involved in the accident and was drunk at the time.

*Victoria Clevenger has been named Executive Director of the Lake Lanier Association (LLA). Clevenger will replace Amy McGuire, who left the organization a few weeks ago. Clevenger has been with the organization since 2021, most recently serving as Marketing and Communications Coordinator. LLA President Todd Baxter made the announcement in the latest LLA newsletter.

*Cumming-based Sawnee EMC, which has some customers in Hall County, has announced a rate decrease. Customers will see an average reduction of $16.63 per 1,000 kWh when compared to their December 2023 billing statement, according to a news release from the electric co-op.
