A new report shows the Gainesville metropolitan area, which includes all of Hall County, was 35th out 221 small U.S. metros in new home construction last year.
Last year, the Gainesville metro area approved 16.3 new housing units per 1,000 existing homes. In 2021, that number was 29.2.
